Llinos Medi has been a County Councillor representing the Talybolion Ward since 2013 and in 2019 became the Leader of Anglesey County Council; the first female to ever take the role.
She leads the Plaid Cymru Group within the Welsh Local Government Association and is also the WLGA spokesperson for Social Services.
Llinos is a an Anglesey girl having been brought up on a farm in the village of Llanddona and being educated at Ysgol Gynradd Llanddona, Ysgol David Hughes and Coleg Pencraig in Llangefni before moving into the world of work with several jobs across the island.
She has spent time as a carer in the Council's Care Homes and also as a Youth Worker with the island's Youth Clubs - two jobs which have heavily influenced her political outlook.
Llinos appeared on the list of 100 Welsh Women who have made a significant and lasting impact within their fields of expertise complied by the Women's Equality Network in 2020.
According to an opinion poll by Survation in February 2024, Llinos Medi is set to gain the seat of Ynys Môn from the Conservatives with 39% of the vote. Labour was on 27%, the Conservatives on 26% and Reform on 4%.
Llinos hopes to join the active Plaid Cymru team in Westminster, and believes Ynys Môn needs a voice that will always stand up for the true needs and values of the Island.
